Boysie - 2001

Welcome to Boysie's Diary from 2001.

29th January 2001

Having had a few weeks off, Malcolm and I went back to class today. We were still very good :-) At about half past one, someone looking and smelling like Becky came in, but Malcolm told me it wasn't her, so we carried on. After a few more exercises, class finished, and Malcolm told me it was her... what a rotter.

Afterwards, we were standing around chatting, and Toby attacked me again :-(, both Malcolm and Becky helped, and I was a bit bruised and shocked, but otherwise OK, whilst Becky had to go to the human vet to get her thumb fixed. She's OK too, now. Malcolm says he'll tell Toby that he can be above me in the class pack... I don't care.

6th March 2001

February maybe a very short month, but we packed a lot in. Malcolm and I visited Barney and Malcolm's Mum - I was tired for the next two days after all that running around.

Its all very strange now though, as we keep walking past the forest, but Malcolm says we can't go in - something about Foot and Mouth disease. Still at least we are going different places.

Maybe the strangest thing happened tonight though. I got an e-mail from a cat called Boysie - spooky. I'm really not sure though - its not very easy to chase a cat on a computer :-(

10th April 2001

What an odd month this has been. First of all, Malcolm went away for ages and ages (7 days actually), but Becky stayed with me all the time, and Grandma Jacobs came over to help.

When Malcolm came home I was fast asleep, and I didn't believe it was him. But he'd brought some presents, and now we are a family again.

24th April 2001

Today Malcolm and I got up early, and we went to Eastbourne to see Malcolm's Mum and Barney. When we went out for a walk Barney was mucking about, and wouldn't give his kong back for Malcolm to throw, so Malcolm chased him, and attacked him, but I didn't understand, and attacked too. Then Malcolm told me to stop, and I did - so he was pleased, and admitted he'd given the wrong signals.

29th June 2001

Sorry its been such a long time since I wrote in my diary. Summer is here at last, and its way too hot and humid, so we are sitting in the dark trying to stay cool as much as we can.

Malcolm has bought himself a digital camera (to him for his birthday), and we are planning on setting up a Boysie-cam web page. Due to the size of the images, Malcolm tells me we'll only be able to keep a few days plus a few favourites on-line, so you'll have to check back regularly.

Stay tuned here for the web page when it is set-up.

31st July 2001

We've been to visit Barney four times in the last month.

11/12 August 2001

Back down to see Barney and Grandma Preen again. Malcolm has managed to fix her PC - apparently I'm a good assistant. Helping to keep Barney out of the way is probably his reasoning for that.

Next weekend at class we are supposed to be having a party for me, as I'm 10. I'll let you know how it goes.

17-19 August 2001

I made it.... 10 years old. Who'da thunk it. We had a birthday weekend, Malcolm took me to Pets at Home to pick my own present, then Becky came for a walk with us on my birthday, we had a party at class and on Sunday we went to see Grandma Jacobs which was very nice.

I got lots of presents too. A big bone from Aunty Pat, Pigs Ears from Grandma Jacobs and a travel dinner bowl from Uncle Timmy. I like birthdays.

17 September 2001

Very strange. We all (yes Becky too) got up really early, put a load of stuff in the car, and set off. About 90 minutes after we set off, Malcolm stopped at the airport, and Becky went off. Seems a little odd. Anyway, we carried on, and another two hours passed before we arrived in Eastbourne, and were greeted by Grandma Preen and Barney.

We spent the rest of that day putting Grandma Preen's new PC together, and making it make loads of funny noises. Malcolm said I was very helpful, but all I did was keep Barney amused :-). We also went for nice walks, and met some new friends.

18 September 2001

We stayed over - Malcolm called it a sleepover - and he said I was very good for not waking him up in the night. Today we went up onto Butts Brow - which seems to be a very steep and rainy hill with loads of wind. You can see for miles.

We finished putting the 'puter together, and getting Grandma Preen's games working, and left at about 7pm after dinner. I slept all the way home. When we arrived, Becky's car was there, but she wasn't :-(.

19 September 2001

We slept late (even missing the postman), and then we went shopping. Mostly it was raining so I guarded the car while Malcolm went and got stuff. He then spent ages drilling holes to put things on the walls.

20 September 2001

Loads more relaxing.... and then we went to Epping. I think Malcolm got a bit lost, but we found the car in the end :-)

21 September 2001

Malcolm was playing on his computer when the door bell rang... it was Barney and Grandma Preen. They'd come to see us. We had a run around, and then we went off to Epping again... this time we didn't get too lost. Guess that was the plan to do a trial run yesterday !!! Then we went down the pub for dinner, and then Malcolm left his Mum in charge of both me and Barney. We were quite good.

22 September 2001

Today we went to class... Barney too. He was very good - and everyone thinks he's very pretty. Then they all left me for a few hours (I think they went to ice hockey) and I slept.

23 September 2001

Today should have been the FunDay at Aunty Pat's but it was too wet. So we went to Epping, before waving goodbye to Grandma Preen and Barney who were going back to Eastbourne. The rest of the day we just sat and did nothing... Very nice

28 September 2001

After a week of Malcolm being back at work, and me sleeping, again we had to get up and go to the airport. Malcolm said we'd have a nice surprise, and after about an hour of waiting not only did Becky appear, but Uncle Timmy and Grandma and Grandpa Jacobs too. I was very pleased, but I was good too.We went to the pub in the evening again.

2 October 2001

Well... they never believed I'd make 1 year, but I've just been back for my innoculations for a third time. Apparently its the love Malcolm and Becky give me... yeauch... pass the sick bag.

7 December 2001

Firstly, sorry I've not updated my diary recently... but you know how it is. Secondly, I've had to ask Malcolm to type this for me as I've hurt my paw. The rotten postman came this morning, and as I was tearing down the stairs I ripped the dew claw on my right paw. There was blood everywhere. But we've been to see the vets, and after the vet ripped the old claw off (ouch that hurt), and tidied up the wound, she put a very nice purple bandage on. It feels much better now, but I don't like it. [he'll like it even less when he realises walkies are off - Malcolm].

14 December 2001

A week has passed.... I got the bandage off last Saturday - but it itches so much I just HAVE to lick it. So I get told off :-(. Earlier this week I had to have an extra mini bandage as Malcolm trod on my paw [he was trying to get at another dog - Malcolm], and Becky said I was very good to keep it on all day.

31 December 2001

I think I'm in Malcolm's bad books.... he'd been out yesterday evening, and when he came back he'd made a sandwich, which he'd left on the edge of his desk. Looked to me like he was sharing it... but when he saw me licking the ham he shouted at me. But then he did give me the bit I was licking [he thinks I'm eating it with doggie slobber on it - Malcolm].
