Boysie - 2002

Welcome to Boysie's Diary from 2002.

1 January 2002

A very early start. And off to see Barney again. We had to start early as Malcolm had to do some computer set up stuff, and then we all got in the car. We didn't go too far, but when we got out there were hundreds of other dogs (OK, about 20)!! We went for a long walk in the snow, most of the other dogs were OK - but I had to warn a couple of little ones off.

We sat outside in the snow for lunch... I got loads of cheese... and then we walked back... Boy was I whacked... I'm glad Malcolm was driving.

5 January 2002

We went to class today - its a HUGE hall - at least three times as big. With loads of us there is still space to move. I was looking around, and Malcolm was miffed - he thought I wasn't behaving - but I was just exploring.

19 January 2002

We walked to class today - about 45 minutes. Boy was I tired. Fortunately Becky came to pick us up....

29 January 2002

Another visit to Eastbourne... it was quite a good journey. When we arrived it was quite nice so we went to Beachy Head - Malcolm parked in a cloud and we all got VERY wet. Still we had a nice time, and I've been sleeping ever since.

3 February 2002

Becky and Grandma Jacobs went away to a conference this weekend. So Malcolm and I did our normal class thing, and then as a special treat we stayed up and watched the SuperBowl. Malcolm had a special dinner called Haggis - I loved it - hope we have it again soon.

12 February 2002

Pancake Day - Malcolm and Becky made pancakes this evening. Seems very odd, but when they had a broken one I was allowed to help. Don't like lemon on it though but plain pancake is nice. I've also become a "digestive biscuit monster"

16 February 2002

An early start - Malcolm was watching more Olympic Ice Hockey - and then we went to see Grandma Jacobs - Malcolm and Becky then went away, which I don't like - but its not a problem these days as Grandma Jacobs spoiler me rotten. When they came home I was very pleased to see them.

16 April 2002

We all (Becky as well) got up early today, and got into the car. It was a nice journey, but when we got to the airport Malcolm got out, and we went on. Becky says he's gone to Finland for Ice Hockey. I hope he's not away too long.

21 April 2002

Back in the car with Becky, and this time we got out and went for walkies around the airport. Malcolm's plane arrived early, so we went inside to look for him. Then a few people with hockey kits came out, followed by Malcolm, and we were re-united again. As it turned out it was lucky that the plane was early, as Becky was going to put me in the car... and about 50 yards away in the car park there was another car which had caught fire. Phew.

1 May 2002

Today we went out for our lunchtime walk, and a little terrier thing came charging at us. I sat as Malcolm asked, and looked on aghast as Malcolm proceeded to kick the dog which tried to get at me. Malcolm then berrated the owner of the terrier very severly, and we carried on. When it had gone I barked - just to show then all who is boss !!!

8 May 2002

Yesterday Malcolm and I went to see Grandma Preen and Barney - we had a lovely walk in Abbotts Wood. Both Barney and I were off lead and we got quite muddy :-) Malcolm and I went home as normal, and during the night I wasn't very well - Malcolm thinks its something to do with me eating my own sh*t - not sure I understand that !!!

16 July 2002

Sorry about the delay, Malcolm wouldn't let me on the 'puter. Its been a hectic few months - we visited Barney and Grandma Preen, as well as Grandma and Grandpa Jacobs. Barney tells me he went on holiday to "kennels" - he said it was fun, but I'm not too sure - sounds a bit like I was in before I met Malcolm and Becky.

On Sunday we went to a fun dog show at Aunty Pat's - I entered loads of classes, and whilst I was last in "Dog with the biggest balls" :-(, I won the "Best Rescue". It was a fun day, but a little bit too hot.

21 September 2002

Yet again a long delay.... very sorry. Today Malcolm and I went back to the airport... Becky has been away for almost two weeks... and we've had fun in her absense... we visited Barney and Malcolm's Mum in Eastbourne, had lots of special dinners and some nice walks.

Anyway, back to today, we parked the car, and then set off to find Becky. We found the "Arrivals Lounge", and just as we were checking the flight arrivals time a fully armed policewoman stopped us, and asked what we were doing. Malcolm explained, and the policelady patted my head. Apparently someone said we looked "suspicious".

After all that excitement, we went for a nice walk, and came back to the arrivals lounge just as Becky's plane was due to land. We seemed to wait for ever, including getting told to leave by a nasty man in a suit. He said animals aren't allowed.... that's so mean... Malcolm isn't an animal.. he's my boss. We went out, turned round, and came back in.... then eventually, Becky arrived, with Grandma Jacobs, and I got loads of fuss. Then we went home, and Becky slept for the rest of the weekend.

19 October 2002

A very strange day... Malcolm and Becky both got dressed up smart, but I was allowed to go with them... We jumped in the car, and went to an odd building called a church. And guess who was there.. Vinnie, Ella, Gray, Cassie, Pucka, Bonnie and Khan... we went for a little walk... all off lead... and everyone except Vinnie was good... but he was silly more than bad... Then we had to stand outside the church looking smart... it was very cold... and after about 20 minutes who should appear but Aunty Pat - she had a very pretty dress on (not like Aunty Pat at all) and when she saw us all smart and waiting for her she cried.... that's twice in a couple of weeks (she cried at class when we gave her her present...). Then we all had our pictures taken and everyone was very good.

5 December 2002

For the last few days I've had a sore leg... so we went to the doggie doctors. As previously mentioned, Uncle Greg left a long time ago, so we got to see a lady called Emma. Malcolm and Becky tell me she was just trying to help, but she hurt my hip :-(.

After a few checks, Emma recommended that I have some more drugs... This time its a drug called Metacam (which is also known as Meloxicam - and Becky used to do clinical trials on humans with it). I didn't really feel like taking it at first, as it has to be taken with food, and I wasn't really hungry. I gave in originally when offered neat Winalot, and later on Chicken... and tripe.. Maybe I'll get used to this drug :-)

7 December 2002

Today we went to class, but I just sat and watched because of my bad leg. I could get used to this.

10 December 2002

We weren't going to go, because of my bad leg, but with Malcolm having taken the day off, we decided to go to Eastbourne and visit Malcolm's Mum and Barney. Barney was very good - he knew I didn't want to bounce, so mostly left me alone. He even seemed happy with the shorter walks. And as normal, we both slept well this evening.

18 December 2002

Back to the vets to see Emma.... my leg is much better, so I only have to take the drugs when my leg aches. Unfortunately, that means I don't always get special dinner :-(.

In the evening we went to the class party - Malcolm and I weren't very good at the games, so we kept being eliminated, and having to eat the food. Shame. Towards the end, Malcolm noticed some blood on my willy, so we've got to go to the vet again.

19 December 2002

Today the vet is Tom - and I had to be lifted onto the table... He says the blood isn't down to my prostate this time - so he needs a urine sample, and then maybe x-rays :-(

23 December 2002

Tom called - the urine is OK... no blood, no crystals and just a bit of debris. So Malcolm and Becky are just going to keep an eye on me (like they don't anyway). Something odd is happening, as they've tidied up the house, maybe we are having visitors.
